Our tour had booked us at this hotel the reviews I read on it were not exactly perfect. I was a little apprehensive, not knowing what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised our room was big and spacious. Our bed was comfortable room was clean no real complaints. The Wi-Fi was terrible. Other than that it was pretty good .

I am a travel agent/ tour operator and I had a great time staying here. ROOM: Spacious with large bathroom. Could maybe do with a fresh coat of paint & varnish but no complaints. STAFF: Knowledgeable and friendly. Moreno was very informative and helpful. LOCATION: The most important thing in a city hotel and this was very central opening out onto the side of the major papal basilica Santa Maria Maggiore ( if you like churches, this is the ultimate churchiest church ever with major relics such as The Manger) Five minutes on foot from Termini Station. Fifteen minutes walk from the Colosseum. BREAKFAST: This is where I think improvement could be made. Breakfast is continental and not very much choice. Would benefit from wider range and -dare I say it - cooked food? OVERALL: Beautiful setting with garden and communal areas. Also an old historic Palace (the clue is in the name) where a former pope lived. I believe that at one period it was a seminary and the Chapel is still there and complete. As a catholic, I would start my day there before leaving the hotel (no doubt to the many many other churches I visited!)

Do not go by the airbrushed photos thinking you will be staying at a nice place!! The outside area was awful, the inside is old and not taken care of and our room was disgusting. The air condition does not work. The room has two single beds pushed together. If you want to hug your partner be careful you don’t fall through between the beds sliding apart. The staff was not friendly and a couple times down right rude! We could not wait to get out of that place!!!

Not At All Recommended, Please stay away, AC did not work, it was extremely hot, The front desk was least bothered about our concerns, The safe deposit box got jammed and we had a struggle to open it, The phone did not work and the toilet seat was broken and I almost fell down

This place...I don't even know where to start. The room we booked had "superior" in its name. It was tiny, dark, dingy and smelled like old cigarette smoke. A/C barely worked (we were there during a heatwave) and it was unbearable to be inside. After the first shock we experienced upon entering I started looking at everything closer. Markings on the walls, a hole from what looked like a cigarette on the bed cover, floor lamp not working, broken drawer... And then I walked into the bathroom. The shower floor was white some long time ago probably. It looked dirty like something that hasn't been cleaned for a while. I started doing a video on my phone and that's how I discovered black mold on the inside surfaces of the shower cabin. It was disgusting. There was no way we could use it. I walked to the reception and shared my discoveries. They went from all smiles to rude and dismissive in nanoseconds. Told me to run the AC for 20 minutes to get the roome cooled off. Disregarded the black mold comments, the filthy carpets and the smell. Told me that maybe I could get another room tomorrow. Long story short - my 11-year-old and I had to move hotels. I was lucky to find a room in a great hotel about 10 minutes from the Coleseum. When asked for a refund the receptionist practically laughed at me and said to "deal with my travel agency" if I wanted a refund. This place needs a thorough walk through from a health inspector. Staying there is a health hazard. And if that's not enough their customer service is non-existent. As we were leaving I asked for the copies of our passports they took when we were checking in. I was told there was a printer jam and they didn't have them. I know that was not true. I saw the copies. While I was having this conversation with the receptionist there was a bunch of passport copies of a whole family that just checked in from the Netherlands scattered around in a messy pile on his desk. I could see the photos, the names, passport numbers, all their private information. So in addition to offering filthy rooms they couldn't care less about their guests' privacy. Keep that in mind if you still consider booking a room there.
